Understanding the Medicinal Value of Plants

Compared to the timeline of history, modern medicine produced by the pharmaceutical industry hasn’t been around that long. Natural medicines used by humankind before modern knowledge of science have existed for thousands of years. While many pharmaceuticals have tried to replicate what nature provides, most modern medicines are artificial, synthetic creations. This is necessary, as patent laws don’t permit filing a patent on something that exists naturally. Scientists have had to develop suitable alternatives, which often have serious side effects.  

There are several advantages to herbal medicine, perhaps the best being minimal to no side effects. There are no unidentifiable fillers or additives, only the herbs you want and need. Many plants and herbs have numerous healing ingredients and qualities and may be prepared using a variety of techniques to utilize the various health benefits. These techniques include utilizing fresh and dried herbs to prepare teas, oil infusions, salves, tinctures/extracts, and medicinal syrups.  

Naturley in Fruition, LLC. harvests many of their natural ingredients directly from our farmette located in Hancock, Maryland. We also ethically utilizes natural resources and products from other local businesses using many of the techniques noted above to create our products.
